The Board of Directors would like to introduce themselves:
Jackie Pottier
 Position:WIM 2012 President
 University: Northwest Missouri State University
Advisor: Mrs. Charlotte Stiens
Major: Family and Consumer Sciences Education
School Standing: Senior- Graduating in the Spring
Career Goal: I hope to be a FACS Teacher either Middle School or High School. It would be my dream to be in  a school near my home town in Missouri. After my first couple of years of teaching I will begin  working on my Masters Degree.
My favorite thing about WIM is the opportunity for leadership. My first year at WIM I decided  that I wanted to get more involved. I was very intrigued by the idea of a student run conference,  and I felt that it could be a great learning experience. My first year I was elected WIM Treasurer  and this year I have the honor of being the President

Career Goal: To teach at a high school and eventually get a Master’s in Administration.
My favorite thing about WIM is being able to meet people from around the Midwest and make lifelong connections.

Sarah Pfeifer
Position:WIM 2012 Social Chair
University: Northwest Missouri State University
Advisor: Dr. Jean Memken
Major: Child and Family Studies and Therapeutic Recreation
School Standing: Senior
Career Goal: My plan is to become a child life specialist. I plan on having a career working with children. I really working with children. I also enjoy working with kids with disabilities. Recently I’ve also become interested in putting together programs and events for kids.
My favorite thing about WIM is getting to meet students from different schools that share the same career interests as myself. I really enjoy being able to meet and work with other students from different schools.

Christian Brookins

Major:Interior Design
School Standing:Junior
Career Goals: I am going to live in Chicago as an Interior Designer and I later move to New York and or Los Angeles where I will pursue a career in Set Designing and Staging.
My Favoriet Thing About WIM is that I get to meet new and interesting people. I am also able to get involved in an organization that gives me a reason to travel and helps me gain experience that I can use in the future.

Josh Mraz
Position: WIM 2012 Delegate at Large
University:  Fontbonne University
Advisor: Mrs. Mary Beth Ohlms
Major:  Fashion Merchandising and Retail Management
School Standing: Senior
Career Goals: I have been working in the visual merchandising sector of retailing for the past three years, I was the Six Flags St. Louis Visual Merchandiser for three years where I was able to express my creative ability in window and floor displays as well as floor sets.  I am also interested in the fields of product coordination and store planning which I am currently looking for internships in these fields for summer 2012.  I currently am employed at Saks Fifth Avenue St. Louis where I am hoping to join their visual team in the spring of 2012.
My Favorite thing about WIM is about how this conference brings together people not only from your area of interest to aid in networking but also other sectors of the Human Environmental Sciences and Family and Consumer Science disciplines so you can learn from others and make some new contacts at the same time.  The tours are not only the main reason a lot of students attend but they are also a great way to learn of possible career areas of interest and meet some professional contacts at the same time.
